Get hooked on the speed of Civo - Michael Friedrich, GitLab
GitLab is a single application with everything you need for end-to-end software development and operations. It's an all-in-one place that simplifies toolchain complexity and speeds up cycle times. Also, GitLab makes it easy to get started with containerization and cloud-native development as it includes a built-in container registry and Kubernetes integration.
GitLab has an estimated 30 million estimated registered users and more than 1 million active licence users, and a community of more than 2,500 contributors.
When we caught up with Michael, he explained why he loves using Civo for his deployments.
"I got hooked into it because I don't like to wait for things, I just want to try it out and then later on automate it," Michael also found the onboarding experience refreshingly simple: "When I compared it to other cloud providers, I found it very straightforward to get started."
"The performance of getting your cluster up and running is superfast and enables me just to start working."
After deployment, many users' first thoughts are often 'How much has this cost me?' or 'Am I going to get a nasty surprise in the billing?'. Michael assured us this is not the case at Civo: "I spin up clusters on both Civo and other cloud providers, but I found Civo very fair and transparent in terms of what I'm spending... and I don't have to worry about trying to understand the invoice later as to why so much was spent".
