From the announcement of our first tech event, Civo Navigate, to building a machine learning landscape, 2023 has been an incredible year for Civo. Last year enabled us to shift our focus towards community engagement, product enhancements, and sustainability, allowing us to foster a more robust, inclusive, and environmentally conscious technology ecosystem.
Let’s take a look back at the incredible work the team has been working on over the past year and what we can expect to see in 2024.
Civo 2023 - a year in review
Product launches
In 2023, we announced our new machine learning platform, Civo ML, powered by Kubeflow. This was part of our aim to ensure that the machine learning ecosystem is designed from the ground up to enable rapid development and simple orchestration in a productivity-centric way. Throughout the year, we…
- Introduced our fully managed development environment, Kubeflow as a Service.
- Released high-performance GPUs for machine learning, scientific computing, and generative AI.
- Partnered with Deep Green to create a climate-friendly cloud compute solution with all the power of NVIDIA GPUs.
Earlier in 2023, we made the commitment to enhance platform robustness, customization, and security. To fulfill this promise, we introduced a series of tools, services, and partnerships in 2023, including:
- Started integrating Talos Linux with K3s, shifting towards Talos Linux for our tenant clusters.
- Announced Civo Platform, our fully-managed PaaS solution that allows you to build, launch, and scale your app with ease.
- Launched the Alpha version of our Kubernetes system with Intel Corporation, featuring secure enclaves as part of our hardware-based Confidential Computing solution.
- Released new applications to the Civo Marketplace, including Uptime-Kuma, WeaveScope, and Percona Monitoring and Management, allowing users to install their favorite Kubernetes applications in seconds.
- Partnered with Heata, a company that uses waste heat from servers, we're utilizing server waste heat to provide cost-effective compute resources for Civo customers. This collaboration, focusing on reducing energy costs in areas like social housing, offers Heata's units as edge nodes for running workloads, marking a significant step in sustainable server heat reuse.
